Abstract: Th deposition types and correlation of the Longtan Formation in southern China are very complex and difficult.In this paper the longtan Formation is divided into a types according to correlation standards of petrographic strata,biostrata,coal-bearing strata and their together combination and stacking relations,using marine beds as correlation mark and with the consideration of Mid-Late Permian tectono-paleogeographic characteristics.
