Abstract:
Based on thermal simulation data of gold tube experiment in the closed system and combined with the specfic Kinetics Software, the parameters of hydrocarbon generation kinetics from Mesozoic source rocks in the Kuqa Depression, Tarim Basin were studied. Jurassic coal, carbonaceous, coal-associated mudstone and Triassic mudsone in the Kuqa Depression are quite different on the activation energy distributions and frequency ratios. This demonstrates the differences on the behaviors of hydrocarbon generation from different source rocks. The parameters of carbon isotope kinetics from Jurassic coal, carbonaceous, coal-associated mudstone and Triassic mudsone in the Kuqa Depression were conducted using the GOR-Isotope Kinetics Software. These above stated kinetic parameters would provide the important geochemical data for basin modelling, the assessment of source rocks, the calculation of hydrocarbon-generating amounts and the predication of sources.
