Abstract: Based on petrographic research on coal seam from Hancheng coal mining area, including macro-and microanalysis, vitrinite reflectance and fracture characteristics, the factors controlling the gas generation and storage are analyzed. Meanwhile the district containing potential coalbed gas resource is indicated.
