Abstract: The trend of coal resource exhaustion compels coal enterprises to actively seek the way of sustainable development of old mining areas. Combining the domestic and international coal market situation and the actual development of enterprises, Datong Coal Mine Group based on geological mining difficulties and technical challenges for the sustainable development of coal resources in old mining area double periods coalfield, taking the innovation and development of the planning concept and breaking through the technical problems as the breakthrough point, achieved a major breakthrough in strategic planning innovation and key technical problems, and built the construction mode of a modernized coal mine with capacity of ten millions tons in Tashan coalfield.
